Staff Physical Therapist Job Description

FUNCTION: To evaluate and treat patients referred to the clinic in the most effective and efficient manner possible while also achieving quality outcomes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Clinical Care: Efficiently and effectively evaluates patients and develops treatment plans appropriate for functional limitations. Mentors clinical staff in efficient and effective patient care. Appropriately utilizes and supervises support staff in order to meet the goals of the clinic. Skillfully provides treatment to patients in accordance with clinic's standard of care. Promptly completes all evaluation and progress notes, care plans, discharge summaries, and physician correspondence in the established format and in compliance with the company's compliance plan. Ensures the clinical staff's timely and accurate completion of documentation. Promptly records daily charges for services.
  2. Team Participation: Participates in clinical staff education, meetings and quality improvement programs for patient care and staff development projects.
  3. Standards of Practice and Ethics: Complies with all pertinent rules and regulations within the Virginia State Practice Act and the American Physical Therapy Association's Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.

EDUCATION: Minimum of a BS or MS or DPT in Physical Therapy from an accredited school with licensure by the Virginia Board of Medicine to practice Physical Therapy.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of internships (clinical affiliations)/ other practical experience as part of a formal PT curriculum.
